GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: Lady Panthers get started at regional tournament

The Permian girls golf team wrapped up the first day of the Region I-6A golf tournament Monday carding a team total of 367 Monday at Tangle Ridge Golf Club.

The Lady Panthers currently sit in 13th place and were led by Angela Aguirre, who shot an opening-round 82.

Southlake Carroll (304) leads the team standings, with Flower Mound (310) and Trophy Club Byron Nelson (310) tied for second.

Trinity King of Arlington Martin and Jennie Park of Lewisville Hebron are tied for medalist honors after shooting even-par rounds of 72.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. The Lady Panthers will be grouped with El Paso Coronado Blue and Richardson Pearce for the final round.
