A 79-year-old woman involved in a fatal crash in northeast Odessa was listed in fair condition Friday morning, a Medical Center Hospital official said.

The fatal crash happened at 2 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 42nd Street and Preston Smith Road, an Odessa Police Department release stated.

Jean Ann Emmons, 79, of California was driving east on 42nd Street in a gray Ford Mustang, the release stated. Ronald Parks, 80, of Odessa was identified as the passenger in the Mustang. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Angelo Rodriguez, 33, of Odessa was traveling west on 42nd Street in a white Ford van, the release detailed.

Emmons reportedly failed to yield the right of way and collided with the van while attempting to turn north onto Preston Smith Road.

Emmons was transported to MCH with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no reports of any other injuries and the investigation continues.
