A Gardendale woman was killed and a Seminole man was injured as a result of a collision Monday night in northeast Odessa.

The collision happened at 8:49 p.m. Monday near the intersection of East Loop 338 and Yukon Road, an Odessa Police Department release stated.

Virginia Cupps, 79, of Gardendale was pronounced dead at the scene. David Neudorf, 37, of Seminole was transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An MCH official said over the phone Tuesday morning he had been treated and released.

Neudorf was driving a 2015 GMC pickup north in the 7700 block of Loop 338, the release detailed. Cupps was driving a 2019 Nissan Sentra south in the north lanes in the 7700 block of Loop 338.

Cupps was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road and hit the pickup head on.

The investigation continues.
