60-year-old dies after being hit by vehicle

A 60-year-old man was reportedly killed as the result of being struck by a Jeep on Friday.

The reported collision happened at 10:24 p.m. Friday near the intersection of University Boulevard and Golder Avenue, the Odessa Police Department release stated.

Jose Manuel Sanchez, 48, of Houston was reportedly driving a black Jeep Liberty east in the 800 block of West University.

A 60-year-old man reportedly attempted to run south across University before being struck by the Jeep. The 60-year-old was transported to Medical Center Hospital and was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Next of kin haven’t been notified. More information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
