Ector County commissioners waived discussion on the Teen Court at their meeting this morning.

The issue is now expected to be taken up at an Oct. 29 meeting between Teen Court officials and district judges, Teen Court administrator Tammy Hawkins said.

Hawkins said she's had trouble with district judges locking them out of courtrooms at the Ector County Courthouse since Aug. 6.

District judges say teenagers using their courtrooms have caused problems with theft and vandalism -- charges Hawkins said she had not been notified of, she said.

The next meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in 244th District Judge Stacy Trotter’s office. If no resolution is found there, Hawkins said the issue could go before the commissioners at their Nov. 13 meeting.

Teen Court is expected to be held as scheduled tonight, Hawkins said.
