UPDATE: Oncor was still working to restore power across Ector County on Wednesday evening after several outages occurred following an afternoon thunderstorm.

The Oncor website showed 14 outages in the Odessa area as of Wednesday evening, affecting about 73 customers. Earlier in the day there were as many as 1,000 customers affected by the storm, which caused as many as 23 outages across Ector County.

Oncor Spokesman Gus Ortega said he did not have an estimated time for when all of the outages would be fixed and they were working to restore power to the rest of the area.

“We’ve got people that will be working throughout the night and evening to get these lights back on,” Ortega said.

The spokesman said they had not yet determined the cause of the outages, but that they were working to repair the outages as soon as possible.
