The Midland-Odessa Transportation Alliance is hosting a special luncheon to inform residents about local area plans and new funding opportunities for the Permian Basin.

The luncheon will provide an overview of the proposed 2020 to 2029 Unified Transportation Plan, the Texas 2050 Long Range Plan and information on upcoming meetings for the Permian Basin Regional Freight Plan by Odessa District Engineer John Speed.

During a recent UTP workshop, the Texas Department of Transportation proposed programming $600 million in additional funding over the next two years for the Permian Basin through a new funding stream, a MOTRAN news release stated.

The funding stream can be refunded every two years during future UTP revisions to extend the program. A portion of the event will be set aside for public comment to collect feedback on presented items and the additional highway funding.
