One of the bands featured in this year’s Rock the Desert Christian music festival is Barlow Girl.

>> Sisters Becca, Alyssa, and Lauren Barlow wrote their first song while they were supposed to be doing school work.

Now the trio tells others about being a good kind of rebel — for Jesus.

Contemporary Christian music’s biggest breakthrough band of 2004, BarlowGirl continues to shake things up with their rock style and passionate message.

>> Rock the Desert ELEV8 2007 is Friday and Saturday at 2000 N. FM 1788.

>> Advance tickets are $20 or $25 at the gate and include all concerts for both days.

>> Tickets can be purchased at Odessa and Midland Chick-fil-A restaurants, Mardel Christian Books, Midland Community Federal Credit Union and the RTD website.
