A 50-year-old woman was arrested after she reportedly assaulted her husband with a large shard of glass.

Donna Fowler was charged early Tuesday morning with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence), a second-degree felony.

The reported assault occurred at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday in the 4300 block of Esmond Drive, an Odessa Police Department affidavit detailed.

Officers were dispatched to a disturbance call that Fowler was reportedly attempting to break into an apartment by breaking windows and trying to open the door.

Fowler’s husband was holding her wrists and attempting to calm her down when officers arrived on scene, the affidavit detailed. Fowler’s husband was reportedly bleeding from a cut on his chest, which was close to throat, and cut under his left eye.

Fowler was reportedly holding a large shard of glass in her right hand that had blood on it. She was covered in blood from where her husband had bled on her.

Fowler was disarmed and detained by officers, the affidavit stated. Fowler’s husband reportedly didn’t know he was injured and he thought the blood was from his wife.

Fowler was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. She had one bond totaling $50,000 and was still in custody as of Tuesday afternoon, jail records show.
