A 36-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly shot a 55-year-old man in the head.

Christopher Munguia was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

The reported assault happened Wednesday in the 4400 block of North Mark Twain Avenue, an Ector County Sheriff’s Office affidavit detailed.

When ECSO deputies arrived at the scene, Munguia reportedly had blood on his face, shirt and pants. The 55-year-old man was later identified as Jose Rey. Rey was transported to Medical Center Hospital after he stated he had been struck by an object in the left side of his temple causing serious bodily injury.

Rey’s wife stated she saw Munguia choking her husband saying “he would shoot him again and kill him,” the affidavit stated.

Munguia was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He had one bond totaling $20,000 and was still in custody as of Thursday afternoon, jail records show.
