MONAHANS Money is starting to come in for a Monahans girl who suffers from a large facial tumor.

A weekend fund-raiser at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa netted around $2,100, Regina Bustos, mother of 2-year-old Arriana Juarez, said. The family is raising money toward Arriana’s surgeries, which could cost between $120,000 and $150,000.

A Hobbs, N.M., fund-raiser with a Spanish-language radio station raised around $600, Bustos said.

A trust fund at West Texas State Bank had brought in around $3,000 as of Thursday.

Arriana is expected to see Dr. Milton Waner Aug. 28 in New York.

“She’s doing real good,” Bustos said. “She’s talking a lot more.”

A trust fund has been set up at West Texas State Bank to help with medical bills. For information on donating, call 943-7561.
