Ector County Judge Susan Redford will brief commissioners in an executive session Monday about the recent termination of elections administrator Robert Mendoza.

Redford said no action has been taken yet on attempting to find a replacement for Mendoza. She said that effort will be directed at “finding the right person for the job.”

Mendoza, who had served as elections administrator for 18 months, was terminated June 11 by the Ector County Elections Commission because of problems related to job performance and his interaction with others.

Redford said the problems had been brewing for about a year.

In another executive session item, Redford said she will discuss legal matters involving efforts to expand the Ector County Cemetery.

Apparently, she said, “a breakdown in communications somewhere in the process” led some nearby residents to believe their property would be taken by eminent domain.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Armando Rodriguez has said the county will not make anyone living near the cemetery move.

Redford said she wants to “walk back through the process and make sure we’re going the direction we need to go.”

Commissioners will also consider:

>> Requests to use inmates to assist with the food bank and crisis center.

>> Removal of a pool table from the auction list items.

>> A contract with Agnew and Associates for mechanical engineering services for the courthouse plumbing project.

>> Amending contract with Tyler Technologies Inc. and Eagle Software.

>> Plats for Tarhuamara Subdivision third and fourth filing, and Haley Subdivision fourth filing.

>> Contracts with state agencies for public health services.

>> A consent agenda for a line-item transfer to cover costs in the Elections, Health, Equipment Maintenance, Extension, County Judge, and Airport departments.

>> Executive session items concerning other legal matters.
