Ted Nugent plans to do a song in dedication to a group that opposes his presence at a Sunday evening concert in Midland.

The group leader’s response?

“We’re looking forward to the song he decides to dedicate to us,” said Art Leal, president of Una Voz Unida of Odessa.

Nugent’s concert at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center still has not sold out, according to Stephanie Rivas, senior marketing manager at Wagner Noël. She said Tuesday that fewer than 100 tickets remain for the show.

Nugent’s performance is scheduled to raise money for the Show of Support Memorial at Heroes Plaza in Midland. Four military service veterans were killed when a parade float they were riding in was struck by a train in November 2012. The Hunt for Heroes parade in Midland was organized by the nonprofit organization Show of Support. Most of the proceeds (about 75 percent) will go to Show of Support, said Terry Johnson, Show of Support founder and president, in a recent OA interview.
