The Odessa Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Chevron hosted a welcome tailgate event for the new teacher of ECISD Thursday morning at Ratliff Stadium. Teachers were directed through a drive-through tailgate and presented with gifts and supplies by over 40 different vendors to help them through the year. ECISD has brought in approximately 320 new teachers this year, with about 40% coming from areas other than the Permian Basin. In addition, ECISD has brought in 40 international exchange teachers from countries such as Spain, the Philippines, Jamaica and Ghana.
