Are you ready for a realistic life changing journey? Dr. Subash Nagalla and Rhonda Spykes, RN, RNFA, CNOR at the Surgical Weight Loss Center at Odessa Regional Medical Center (ORMC) are ready to guide you in being able to live your life to the fullest!

Rhonda states that, “Obesity is now classified as a disease and Dr. Nagalla utilizes his skills to help treat patients suffering from obesity and obesity-related illnesses such as diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea and hypertension.” Dr. Nagalla is a fellowship trained, board certified general and bariatric surgeon and is one of the best surgeons in the area.

If you are suffering from obesity, have attempted a diet and exercise program with limited results, have a BMI over 40 and are dedicated to making a long-term life change, then you are the perfect candidate for bariatric surgery. Dr. Nagalla has very high expectations because he genuinely wants to see his patients succeed. Because of this, there is a process before being considered for bariatric surgery.

The first step is attending a free informational seminar which is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the ORMC East Campus auditorium from 5:30-6:30pm. If you decide this is a change you would like to make in your life, Rhonda, who is the bariatric coordinator, will then be working with you in every step of the process.

Contrary to what some will say, bariatric surgery in definitely not the “easy way out” nor is it a “quick fix”. It is a long-term lifestyle change that takes a serious level of commitment and support, and the Surgical Weight Loss Center and ORMC provides not only support, but also education on planning your new goals.

One of Dr. Nagalla’s successful patients, Cindy, had this to say about her bariatric surgery, “I look forward to living life to the fullest doing things that my body had restricted me from doing for so long… I’m eternally grateful for Dr. Nagalla [and the staff at ORMC] for their care and especially his honesty throughout my journey.”

So if you are ready to break the current cycle, contact Rhonda Spykes, RN, RNFA to begin the process of getting your life back.
