West Texas Wind ensemble to perform next week

Next week, the West Texas Wind Ensemble will host its first Chamber Series concert for the 2022-23 season.

The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Jack Rodgers Fine Arts Auditorium at Odessa College.

The West Texas Winds consists of members from the West Texas Symphony.

The evening will begin with Carl Nielsen’s “Quintet for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn and Bassoon” and finish up with Paquito D’Rivera’s “Aires Tropicales for Wind Quintet”.

This year’s West Texas Winds includes Caryn Crutchfield on oboe, Chris Chance on clarinet, Philip Hill on bassoon, Lyndsay Eiben on flute and Sonja Millichamp on horn.

Next week’s concert is the second of this year’s Chamber Series, following the Permian Basin String Quartet’s performance last month.

The next Chamber Concert will feature Lone Star Brass at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at Rea-Greathouse Recital Hall at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center.

In a few weeks, the West Texas Symphony will be having its Sounds of the Season concert which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center.
