Vaccine delays leave grocery workers feeling expendable

Lidl employee Joseph Lupo, arranges bananas in the produce aisle of the market where he works, Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, in Lake Grove, N.Y. Earlier in the day, Lupo received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The German grocery chain is offering $200 to any employee who gets vaccinated as an incentive. Lupo, who fell ill with the virus in March, was elated to get his first vaccine dose. "I never ever want to get COVID again, or see anybody else get it," said Lupo, 59.
