A 15-year-old Odessa motorcyclist died after he was involved in a two-vehicle collision in West Odessa.
The reported fatal collision happened at 8:47 p.m. March 26 near the intersection of North Westcliff Road and West Westfield Drive, a Texas Department of Public Safety press release detailed.
DPS says its preliminary investigation showed a 15-year-old boy of Odessa was driving a 1991 Kawasaki 250, while Miguel Angel Guzman, 48, of Odessa was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.
The Kawasaki was following the Malibu as both were traveling southbound on Westcliff Road approaching the intersection of Westfield Drive, the DPS press release stated. The Malibu attempted to turn left onto Westfield Drive when the Kawasaki attempted to pass on the left. The Kawasaki collided with the Malibu.
DPS says the 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead by Ector County Medical Examiner. The 15-year-old was also wearing a helmet.
