The ECISD Bilingual & ESL Department will present a motivational and educational event Saturday for students and their families at Ector College Prep Success academy, 809 W. Clements St.
Titled “Reach the Stars,” the Bilingual/ESL (English as a second language) mini-conference will feature two keynote speakers and three breakout sessions that offer learning opportunities for parents.
The morning keynote speaker is Jose M. Hernandez a former NASA astronaut, who will talk about his journey from migrant farmworker to astronaut. That session is between 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The afternoon speaker is Andres Ruzo, a National Geographic Young Explorer, whose talk is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
