Firecracker Fandango is back and will celebrate the Fourth of July early on Saturday with numerous events and a fireworks show.

Firecracker Fandango is scheduled 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday and is a free event with games, food and market vendors.

“We’re just so excited,” Downtown Odessa Director Casey Hallmark said. “We’re really eager to have this event. It’s completely free to the public and we’re just fortunate to host this and have it be free and hopefully have a good turnout.”

Firecracker Fandango will feature 15 food trucks as well as alcohol vendors and over 25 local market vendors as well as a car show, circus performers, face painting and performances by Rick Trevino and Tommy Tarango.

Battle of the Bands will also be going on at The Ector Theatre at 6 p.m., which will be a $5 admission to anyone older than 12.

A main stage will feature Tommy Tarango and Rick Trevino.

The Odessa Animal Shelter will also have a booth with adoptable pets and the Ellen Noël Art Museum will provide a free children’s craft. Jumpers and rock climbing walls will also be available as well as a car show.

The event will be complete with a 15-minute firework show. The firework show will take place at the corner of Grant and Second street and will start at 9:45 p.m.

On Monday, the Downtown Lions Club has scheduled a parade and a Let Freedom Ring event.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. and will begin at 17th Street and Grant and travel south down Grant to end on Ninth Street.

The American Legion will host the Let Freedom Ring event with music, vendors and food trucks. That event goes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
