The West Texas Food Bank is partnering with Sims & Guess, Realtors through the months of March and April, with $20 being donated to the food bank for every house sold by Realtors from Sims & Guess, the West Texas Food Bank announced Friday.
Since the food bank can provide four meals with every dollar donated, each donation would bring about 80 meals for area neighbors in need, the West Texas Food Bank said in its release.
“With the price of oil shooting back up, and the influx of new residents to the Permian Basin, we could not be more excited to partner with Sims & Guess who is finding homes for all these people,” said Libby Campbell, the West Texas Food Bank’s executive director, via the release. “The donation for every home sold will serve as a reminder to all those finding themselves in new homes that there are others less fortunate in our community, and the very act of purchasing a new home will help get our neighbors fed.”
The food bank also announced the total donation will be presented at a food drive at the Sims & Guess building on May 12.
