Motorcycle escort honors heroes

A motorcycle escort will begin at 11 a.m. today from Monahans to Odessa, then to the Fallen Heroes Traveling Exhibit and Program today at the Music City Mall.

The exhibit and program is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the wall will be on display from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The exhibit honors West Texas Heroes from Iraq, Desert Storm and the Middle East Crisis.

Grief Share

First Baptist Church, 709 N. Lee Ave., has scheduled the following Grief Share classes in the senior adult suite.

Sundays: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to noon.

The meetings are for those who have lost loved ones and are open to the public.

Juneteenth

The Black Cultural Council of Odessa has scheduled the 2019 Juneteenth Celebration June 14-16 and June 19 at Woodson Park, 1020 E. Murphy St.

The annual “Celebration of Freedom” honors the day when Texas slaves finally learned of their emancipation.

T-shirts will be sold from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 9 in Woodson Park.

Planet Troopers

Keep Odessa Beautiful is inviting children ages 8 to 12 to join Planet Troopers and help clean up the local city parks this summer.

KOB will conduct three clean up events from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 15 at McKinney Park; June 22 at Sherwood Park; and July 13 at Floyd Gwin Park.

T-shirts, lunch and supplies will be provided to all registered children. Participants will also receive a goodie bag.

Individual registration will be required per child.
