Police searching for road rage shooting suspect

Odessa police officers are searching for a suspect who reportedly fired five shots while driving near 35th Street and Bellaire Drive due to road rage at about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Odessa Police Department spokesman Cpl. Steve LeSueur said officers observed two bullet holes on a complainant’s car and two bullet holes on the west side of a house near the intersection of 35th Street and Bellaire Drive at Wednesday night.
The suspect was reportedly driving a dark Dodge Ram. There were two people in the complainant’s car and five people, including three children, in a separate complainant’s house, LeSueur said.
The complainant driving the car stated he was traveling north on Dixie Avenue and slowed down to turn east onto Bellaire Drive, an OPD release detailed. The complainant stated the driver of the Ram was directly behind him and became upset and honked his horn. The complainant stated the driver began shooting at his vehicle while they were near the intersection of 35th Street and Bellaire Drive.
The Ram fled the scene and was last seen traveling south on Dixie Avenue, the release stated. The complainant provided the Ram’s license plate number and the vehicle was later located unoccupied.
There were no reports of any injuries. There have been no arrests and the investigation continues.
