ORMC wins Healthgrades award for OB-GYN, labor and delivery

Odessa Regional Medical Center recently announced that it has been recognized by Healthgrades as a 2022 recipient of their distinguished Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award and Labor and Delivery Excellence Award. This distinction places Odessa Regional Medical Center among the top 5% of hospitals evaluated for overall Ob-Gyn care

by Healthgrades, as well as the top 5% of hospitals evaluated for labor and delivery outcomes.

“We constantly strive to provide the highest quality care to our patients throughout every stage of life,” said Stacey Brown, President of Odessa Regional Medical Center. “In every step of the delivery process, our Women’s Care Team works to bring the highest quality to our patients and their newborn children.”

Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients, analyzed OB-GYN patient outcomes data for all patients from 16 individual states from 2018-2020. During this time, if all hospitals included in this analysis, as a group, performed similarly to hospitals receiving the Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award, on average, 153,369 patients could have avoided complications, a news release said.

Additionally, from 2018-2020, patients treated in hospitals receiving the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award, have, on average, a 41.2% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award.

“Through our 2022 Obstetrics & Gynecology Awards, we seek to recognize facilities who excel in delivering superior care for Ob-Gyn patients,” Chief Medical Officer and head of Data Science, Healthgrades said Dr. Brad Bowman said in the release. “We are proud to name Odessa Regional Medical Center as both a 2022 Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award recipient and a 2022 Labor and Delivery Excellence Award recipient and look forward to their continued efforts to make Ob-Gyn care a priority.”
