A burned out motor in a heating/air conditioning unit at Permian High School sent the smell of smoke through the vents of a room near the gym late Thursday afternoon.
The gym was evacuated until they got the all clear from Odessa Fire Rescue, Public Information Officer Mike Adkins said.
