Odessa to recognize National Salvation Army Week

The city of Odessa is set to recognize National Salvation Army Week, with a proclamation by Odessa mayor David Turner to be read Tuesday during the city commissioner’s meeting.

National Salvation Army Week has been recognized regularly since 1954, when the first was declared by the U.S. Congress and proclaimed by President Dwight Eisenhower.

The city meeting is set to start at 6 p.m. inside city hall. Salvation Army Odessa Corps members will be on hand.
