Odessa man killed in highway crash

A crash Saturday morning in Andrews County left one Odessa passenger dead and two other Odessans injured, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.

The crash was reported around 6:44 a.m. Saturday on State Highway 115, the release detailed, about five miles east of Andrews.

Jose Carrasco, 31, was driving west down the highway in a 2001 Toyota Corolla with passengers Zeek Mojica, 39, and Justin Tyler, 31, the release stated.

The vehicle reportedly veered off the roadway, was overcorrected, and rolled over, the release stated.

Tyler was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said, and he reportedly had not been wearing his seatbelt.

Carrasco and Mojica were taken to Permian Regional Medical Center, the release detailed, with a non-incapacitating injury and an incapacitating injury, respectively.
