An Odessa man is dead after a crash early Saturday morning near downtown Odessa.
Manuel Reyes, 78, was pronounced dead on the scene after being struck by a silver Ford truck in a crosswalk at the intersection of 8th Street and Golder Avenue, an Odessa police release states.
The release reports that the driver of the Ford truck failed to render aid and left the scene without meeting necessary legal requirements.
Police are searching for the vehicle in connection to the death. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Odessa Police Department.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday.
