MPO plans workshops to discuss transportation priorities

The Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization will open the development of its new 25-year regional Metropolitan Transportation Plan with public workshops throughout the Midland Odessa area.

The 2045 MTP reflects the community’s vision for long-term community growth support by a wide variety of regional transportation system investment priorities, a Permian Basin MPO news release stated. Workshops are scheduled as follows:

  • Midland: 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Centennial Library, 2503 Loop 250 Frontage Rd.
  • Odessa: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Woodson Community Center, 1020 E. Murphy St.
  • Odessa: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at Music City Mall’s community area by the carousel, 4101 E. 42nd St.
  • Midland: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 24 at EZ-Rider Administration Building, 10300 Younger Rd.
  • Midland: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 26 at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 2300 Butternut Lane.

Participants at the workshops will be given the opportunity to share their vision for the community and its transportation future. Participants are encouraged to bring questions about projects they are interested in or to get help and insight on issues from the presenters, the release stated.

There will be discussions on how agencies, local governments and the private sector can work collaboratively to improve the Midland Odessa area.
