Midland Storytelling Festival returns

The Midland Storytelling Festival will take place Dec. 1-3 with various events at different locations.

One is from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in Room 101 of the Marie Hall Academic Building at Midland College.

Storytellers include Motoko, Antonio Rocha, Barbara McBride-Smith, Bil Lepp, Charlotte Blake Alston, Willy Claflin, Laura Pershin-Raynor and Donald Davis.

Also on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., TRUE Stories will be on the Midland Storytelling Festival YouTube. Details are on the Midland Storytelling Festival Facebook page.

Education Connection day is Dec. 2. Content has been created for all grade levels on the Midland Storytelling Festival YouTube Channel. Storytellers include Raynor, Motoko and Claflin (K-3); Rocha, McBride-Smith and Davis (4-6); Alston and Lepp, (7-12).

It will be on Basin PBS live from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 2.

Festival Day will be at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Bush Convention Center. The 7 p.m. event will be the festival finale with all the storytellers. If you come early, an event called Carols and Cocoa is at 5:45 p.m. featuring the West Texas chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, a community gospel choir comprised of members from the area.

Events for the entire festival weekend will be available to watch via the Midland Storytelling Festival YouTube Channel and Livestream through Dec. 31.
