Midland College’s Women’s Basketball team, the Lady Chaps, is announcing a free basketball clinic for female students in grades 3 through 8.
The clinic will be held on two dates: Oct. 5 and Oct. 26. Both clinics will begin registration at 9:30 a.m. and instruction will begin at 10 a.m. at the Midland College P.E. Building gymnasium. This is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of basketball from Midland College’s dedicated student-athletes and coaching staff.
The clinic will focus on essential skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork, all while fostering a positive and encouraging environment. Participants will have the chance to receive hands-on instruction and gain valuable insights from those who have played at the collegiate level.
“We are thrilled to host this clinic once again,” Head Coach Ron Jones said in a news release. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to inspire the next generation of female athletes. Basketball is not just a sport; it’s a platform for building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. We can’t wait to share our love for the game with these young players, and hopefully create some future Lady Chaps!”
Assistant Coach Cory Hill added, “This clinic is about more than just basketball; it’s about creating a supportive community for young girls to grow and develop both on and off the court. We hope to inspire these athletes to pursue their passions and realize their potential.”
Registration for the clinic is free, but space is limited. Interested participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
