Martin County food bank sets opening

West Texas Food Bank’s partner in Martin County is opening a brand new facility at 1 p.m. Monday at 203 N. St. Francis St. in Stanton. It’s at the corner of St. Francis and Saint Anna.

The new Bob Deavenport Memorial Food Pantry for Martin County will open its doors and will change the way people who are struggling in Martin County receive help.

To move from a one bedroom studio apartment into a 6,000 square foot facility will fundamentally change the way the Martin County Food Pantry serves the community, a news release said.

The West Texas Food Bank also expressed congratulations to Martin County Food Pantry director Kim Juarez for her hard work to get this project completed during a global pandemic.
