A 12-year-old girl stated her stepfather sexually assaulted her multiple times over the last year, an Odessa Police Department affidavit stated.
Pedro Fernandez, 27, was arrested and charged Thursday with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.
The 12-year-old stated the first sexual assault happened in February 2018, the affidavit detailed. The last two incidents happened within the last week as the final sexual assault occurred on Wednesday night.
Fernandez reportedly threatened the girl by stating if she told, he would harm her and her mother as he was holding a butcher knife.
Fernandez reportedly stated do to his frequent drug use causes him to black out that he can’t recall any of the sexual assaults. He continued to state the 12-year-old wasn’t a liar and if she said it happened, it probably did.
Fernandez was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He has one bond totaling $100,000 and was still in custody as of Friday afternoon, jail records show.
