Man charged with robbing another man with knife

A 33-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly robbed another man of $120 with a knife.

Ezekiel Galvan was charged Tuesday with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

Galvan also has a motion to adjudicate guilt after he was charged with a prohibited weapon, a third-degree felony, on Aug. 26, 2017, jail records show.

The reported robbery happened April 19 at Hero’s Fitness located at 2423 N. County Road, an Odessa Police Department affidavit stated.

Alejo Luna, 20, stated that Galvan, who he had just met in person for the first time,picked him up so they could smoke, the affidavit detailed. Lujan stated that when they parked, Galvan pulled a knife and demanded money from Lujan.

Lujan reportedly handed over $120 in cash to Galvan and then ran. Lujan showed officer text messages between him and Galvan where Lujan tells Galvan to bring the money back and Galvan tells him not to call the law and admitted he had the money.

Galvan was arrested on Wednesday and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He has two bonds totaling $140,000 and was still in custody as of Thursday afternoon, jail records show.
