Man charged with pointing gun at two men

A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he reportedly pointed a gun at another man and his cousin.

Brandon Massoth was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

The reported assault happened 6:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Brookview Apartments located in the 3800 block of Penbrook St., the Odessa Police Department affidavit detailed.

A witness at the scene stated Massoth pointed a gun at 23-year-old Hernan Gonzalez and 23-year-old Bernando Gonzalez, the affidavit stated. Hernan Gonzalez and Bernando Gonzalez are cousins.

Hernan Gonzalez stated that his cousin’s wife had been in an altercation with Massoth’s girlfriend earlier that day and Massoth came to the apartment to cause a disturbance.

Massoth reportedly threatened to shoot Hernan Gonzalez, Bernando Gonzalez and kill their families. Hernan Gonzalez reportedly took off his shirt and the physical altercation started.

Massoth reportedly went back to an apartment, got a gun, came back out and pointed the gun at Hernan Gonzalez and Bernando Gonzalez.

Hernan Gonzalez stated that he and his cousin feared for their life when the gun was pointed at them, the release stated.

Massoth was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He had two bonds totaling $100,000 and posted bail on Wednesday, jail records show.
