Man charged with firing multiple gunshots inside residence

A 61-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly fired multiple shots and barricaded himself inside the residence for more than two hours.
Robert Wright was charged Sunday with deadly conduct and discharging a firearm, a third-degree felony.
The reported gunshots happened at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 14600 block of North Holleyhock Avenue in Gardendale, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office press release stated.
Wright reportedly fired two shots while he was inside the residence and it was believed that he wasn’t firing at ECSO deputies. Wright barricaded himself inside the residence for more than two and half hours.
The Ector County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called at about 5 p.m. and made contact with Wright, the press release stated.
The 61-year-old was arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He had one bond totaling $10,000 and posted bail on Monday, jail records show.
