ECHD board to hear CEO updates

The Ector County Hospital District board will hear several updates from Medical Center Health System President and CEO Rick Napper during their monthly meeting Tuesday.

The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. in the board room at Medical Center Hospital, 500 W. Fourth St. Napper is expected to give an update on electronic medical records and an organization chart update.

“Mr. Napper will inform the board of changes/updates he has made to the organizational chart of Medical Center Health System,” hospital officials said in an email Monday. “The updates/changes presented by Mr. Napper are not necessarily the I-Care Task Force he discussed previously with the board.”

The executive committee will also present an update on an Xtend Agreement for Revenue Cycle Services. The committee met Jan. 15 to consider options related to revenue cycle collections on behalf of MCHS to discuss the agreement and will ask the board to ratify its decision in approving the agreement, officials said in an email.

“Xtend is an organization that specializes in assisting hospitals with their collection efforts and in improving workflow within the revenue cycle area to alleviate future backlog situations. This is an agreement that assists the revenue cycle in collecting accounts that are over thirty days old with a balance exceeding $500,” the email states.

The board will also consider a Cejka Executive Search Agreement presented by Napper for the vacant Chief Medical Officer position at MCHS.

A finance committee meeting will take place prior to the regular board meeting. The committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. in the board room at Medical Center Hospital to discuss the quarterly investment report, quarterly investment officer’s certification and financial report for three months ended Dec. 17, 2017.
