ALPINE Max Ferguson wants your vote.
Ferguson, Presidio, a Sul Ross State University music major and professional musician, seeks to broaden his electronic music resume by winning the Untz Challenge. The two winners, grand prize by fan vote and second place chosen by the staff of TheUntz.com, will be awarded performance slots in seven participating music festivals from late May through late September.
Festivals are scheduled in Illinois, California, Colorado, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and one location to be announced.
Voting began April 2 and ends April 13.

“This competition is a way to put my name out and introduce the region to electronic music,” said Ferguson, who is a music student, musician, DJ and producer under the label, FullyMaxxed.
Electronic music, by definition, employs electronic musical instruments, digital instruments and circuitry-based music technology. Devices including computers, synthesizers and Theremins may be used to produce electronic sounds.
Ferguson’s competition track is “No Sleeping,” incorporating electronic sounds, vocals, slap bass, saxophone, electric guitar and random background recordings.
He has played and performed music from a young age, including with his father’s band, The Resonators. “You can find my music on all platforms,” he said.
