1. Three months into the new fiscal year, Medical Center Health System finances are not showing any improvement, but with new administration leadership and the approval of a new budgeting system, there is hope the tides may start to turn.


2. The Odessa Development Corporation began 2018 with District 4 Councilman Mike Gardner appointing industrial warehouse-owner Ted Tuminowski to replace the board’s President Charles Carlson, whose term expired.


3. An employee contracted with the Ector County Detention Center was fired for taking pictures of herself with inmates, an Ector County Sheriff’s Office release said.


4. Ector County ISD police, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, arrested two Permian High School freshmen in connection with a threat posted on Snapchat about “shooting up PHS.”
