The intersection at Faudree Road and Highway 191 was closed Thursday afternoon following a crash that caused downed power lines.
A tanker truck collided with a utility pole with several power lines attached to it in front of Rosas, 4945 E. 42nd St., the Odessa Police Department stated on their Facebook page.
Texas Department of Transportation of Odessa Spokesman Gene Powell Jr. stated that the downed wires caused a forced closure of the Faudree Road and Highway 191 intersection on the south side, preventing drivers from reaching Southbound Faudree Road from Highway 191 for several hours.
OPD stated the crash is currently under investigation, and encouraged motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further advised.
