An Odessa High School administrator, while conducting an investigation Friday afternoon discovered a 16-year old male student with a gun in his bag.
A news release said the student was immediately arrested and is now charged with Places Weapons Prohibited, a third-degree felony.
“School district officials ask for parents’ help in emphasizing with their kids the consequences of bringing prohibited items to school. Those consequences can be severe, including expulsion and criminal charges. We want to thank the administrators involved and our ECISD Police who kept everyone’s safety at the forefront as they responded to the report,” the release stated.
