OC board to consider downtown plan

The Odessa College Board of Trustees will consider accepting an architecture document for its downtown project.

In June, Chief of Staff Robert Rivas said the college wants to establish a presence in downtown Odessa, create some green space and a multipurpose site where OC can host several types of events, for example, fundraising events and the Music Masters Series. It could also be a chance for students to set up businesses.

Funds from its $7 million gift from MacKenzie Scott will be used.

Some other items on the agenda include:

>> Consider and approve purchase of one Steinway Spirio.

>> Report on approval of Pecos Center renovations.

>> Report on approval of diesel trucks and trailers for the truck driving program.

>> Report on design development for the Wood Health Sciences Building.

>> Consider and approve tuition changes for the OC Children’s Center.
