Noel Elementary staff and students received word they had been selected as a 2020-21 School of Excellence for Noel’s use of Imagine Language & Literacy. The award, from Imagine Learning, represents the highest distinction in the Imagine Nation recognition program.
Noel Elementary is one of just 80 schools around the country to earn this designation.
“Administrators and teachers were beyond excited to receive the news about our recognition in Imagine Learning,” said Noel Principal Jennie Chavez in the district newsletter. “All year, the students were excited to set and meet a weekly goal which was to exceed the district’s expectation of 100 minutes per week.”
After program usage was reviewed for the 2020-2021 school year, Noel Elementary met the rigorous usage standards required for a School of Excellence designation.
“We used the program to supplement instruction,” Chavez added. “It helped both students and teachers identify areas of need. It also provided reading levels for students, which helped form small groups to target instruction.”
