JBS institute sets energy lecture

A panel of experts will talk about “Shale and Texas Energy: Past and Future” for the next John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute Distinguished Lecture series set for 7 p.m. April 26 at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center, 1310 N. Farm to Market Road 1788 in Midland.

The panel will be moderated by Jacki Pick, current host of the energy-focused Dallas-based radio program “The Jacki Daily Show.”

Panelists will be Amy Myers Jaffe, Texas Railroad Commission Chairman Christ Craddick and Gary Sernovitz.

Jaffe is the David M. Rubenstein Senior Fellow for Energy and the Environment at the Council on Foreign Relations and a leading expert on global energy policy, energy and sustainability and geopolitical risk.

Craddick is chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission, the state governmental body that oversees the oil and natural gas industries. She has served on the commission since 2012 and became chairman in 2014.

Sernovitz is a managing director at Lime Rock Partners, a creative private equity investment partner that focuses on the upstream oil and gas sector.
