ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS: May 16, 2022

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.

ABANDON ENDANGER

Elsie Torres Franco, 35, pleaded guilty May 6 to abandoning and endangering child and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge James Rush approved the deal. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

ARSON

Paul Baker, 37, pleaded guilty May 6 on the charge of lesser included offense or arson and was sentenced to three years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

ASSAULT

Christopher Earlijah Sledge, 26, pleaded guilty May 2 to assault of a public servant and was sentenced to three years in prison. Judge John Shrode approved the deal. Phillip Wildman Jr. and Felix Neboh were the attorneys.

Eddie Medrano, 32, was acquitted by the jury May 4 on the charge of assault of a family/household member, impeding breath/circulation. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. BJ Brown was the attorney.

Justin Ray Ramirez, 26, pleaded guilty April 27 to assault of a family/household member impeding breath/circulation and was sentenced to seven years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Mike Holmes was the attorney.

Marc Anthony Uzzel, 38, pleaded guilty May 6 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Paul Baker, 37, had an aggravated assault with deadly weapon charge dismissed May 6. Judge James Rush presided.

Stanley Dean Washington, Jr., 54, pleaded guilty May 3 to assault of a family/household member, previous convictions, and was sentenced to five years probation and 10 years in prison (suspended). Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Tracy Zarsky, 49, had an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge dismissed May 4. Judge John Shrode presided.

ATTEMPTING TO TAKE WEAPON FROM AN OFFICER

Christopher Earlijah Sledge, 26, pleaded guilty May 2 to evading arrest detainment with previous convictions and was sentenced to 12 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge John Shrode approved the deal. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

BURGLARY

Erik Adam Leyva, 36, pleaded guilty May 4 to burglary of habitation and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

DIVERTING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES

Miguel Garcia, 35, pleaded guilty May 5 to diverting controlled substances for personal use and was sentenced to two years probation. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

DWI

Daniel Ovidio Perez, 28, pleaded guilty May 5 to drinking while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to four years probation and six years in prison (suspended). Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Gonzalo Rodriguez, Jr., 40, pleaded guilty May 6 to drinking while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to five years probation and 10 years in prison (suspended). Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Ronald Lynn Huff, 61, had a drinking while intoxicated, third or more, charge dismissed May 6. Judge Justin Low presided.

ENGAGING IN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY

James Pete Garrison, 37, pleaded guilty May 5 to engaging in organized criminal activity and was sentenced to four years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Aaron E. Eckman and Tanya Elizabeth Bidwell were the attorneys

Joseph Richard Long, 32, pleaded guilty May 5 to engaging in organized criminal activity and was sentenced to four years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

Mason Reed Purifoy, 31, pleaded guilty May 5 to engaging in organized criminal activity and was sentenced to 180 days in state jail. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

EVADING ARREST

Homer Luna Alvarado, 45, pleaded guilty on May 4 to evading arrest detain with a vehicle and was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Jacob Arreola, 27, pleaded guilty April 27 to evading arrest or detainment with previous convictions and was sentenced to nine months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

Jeffrie Lee Castaneda, 28, had an evading arrest detainment with a vehicle charge dismissed May 3. Judge Jay Gibson presided. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

Joe Angel Lozano, 22, pleaded guilty May 5 to evading arrest detain with a vehicle and was sentenced to four years in prison. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Jose Luis Melendez, 24, pleaded guilty April 27 to evading arrest with a vehicle and was sentenced to four years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Rudolf Moisiuc was the attorney.

Juliana Mendez Gabilondo, 17, had a evading arrest detain with a vehicle charge dismissed May 6. Judge Justin Low presided.

INJURY CHILD/ELDERLY/DISABLE WITH INTENT BODILY INJURY

David Wayne Johnson, 34, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal Dec. 27 on the charge of injury to a child. Judge John W. Smith presided. J. Roxane Blount was the attorney.

KIDNAPPING

Carmell Hickman, 45, pleaded guilty April 28 to aggravated kidnapping and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge W. Stacy Trotter approved the deal.

MANUFACTURE DELIVERY

Adam Minjarez, 22, pleaded guilty March 1 to manufacturing/delivering of controlled substances, more than four grams, but less than 400 grams, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Adrian Chavez was the attorney.

MURDER

Alberto Villalba Garcia, 48, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal May 6 on the charge of attempted murder. Judge Jay Gibson presided. Tony Chavez was the attorney.

Desmond Tuggle, 23, was convicted May 4 on the charge of murder and was sentenced to 60 years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Johanna Curry was the attorney.

Ricky Glen Grumbles, 62, had an attempt capital murder/habitual offender charge dismissed Nov. 27, 2001.

MONEY LAUNDERING

Chrisitian Villarreal, 20, pleaded guilty May 4 to money laundering, more than $2,500, but less than $30,000, and was sentenced to four years probation in deferred adjudication (suspended). Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Chelsea Esparza, 33, had a possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, charge dismissed May 6. Judge Justin Low presided.

Dylan Lopez, 24, pleaded guilty May 6 to possession a controlled substance, more than one gram, but less than four grams, and was sentenced to eight years in prison. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Mario Hernandez, 33, pleaded guilty May 5 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to two years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Oscar Rhudee Dominquez, Jr., 50, pleaded guilty April 27 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to two years probation and two years in state jail (suspended). Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Luke Garrett and Glen G. Halsell were the attorneys.

Perry Lamont Dunlap, 25, pleaded guilty May 6 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to 142 days in county jail. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Rebecca Ann Stout, 26, pleaded guilty May 3 to possession of a controlled under one gram and sentenced to 100 days in state jail. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Simon Isreal Barraza, 45, had a possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, charge dismissed May 6. Judge Justin Low presided.

Stephanie Isabelle Goillandea, 27, pleaded guilty May 5 to possession of a controlled substance, more than one gram, but less than four grams, and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

Taylor Glenn Grissom, 24, had a possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, dismissed Feb. 7. Judge Justin Low presided.

PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE/ITEM

Nick Ybarra, 27, pleaded guilty May 4 to prohibited substance in a correctional facility and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

ROBBERY

Gabriel Matthew Garza, 19, pleaded guilty May 4 on the charge of a lesser included robbery and was sentenced to five years probation. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Ricky Glen Grumbles, 62, was convicted Sept. 20, 2001, on two counts of aggravated robbery and was sentenced to 99 years in prison.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Ronal Joe McCann, 80, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal May 3 on the charge of indecency with a child, sexual contact. Judge John W. Smith presided. Spencer Dobbs was the attorney.

STALKING

Erik Adam Leyva, 36, had a stalking charge dismissed May 4. Judge John Shrode presided.

TAMPER/FABRICATE

Marlin Meza, 34, pleaded guilty April 20 to tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair and was sentenced to three years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt.

THEFT

Emalee Breann Rios, 23, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal May 5 on the charge of theft of property more than $2,500, but more than $30,000 and deferred adjudication. Judge John Shrode presided. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

Julie Gentry Lewis, 52, pleaded guilty May 3 to theft of property, more than $2,500, but less than $30K, and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Mason Reed Purifoy, 31, pleaded guilty May 5 to theft of property, more than $2,500, but less than $30,000, and was sentenced to 180 days in state jail. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

Shanon Ray Lewis, 53, pleaded guilty May 4 to theft of materials aluminum/copper/bronze/brass, less than $20,000, and was sentenced to three years probation and two years state jail (suspended). Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE
