Daughter threatens mother with knife on Mother’s Day

A daughter was arrested on Mother’s Day after threatening her mother with a knife following a dispute over a cell phone.
The Odessa Police Department received a call about the disturbance at about 5:39 p.m. Sunday and were dispatched to Seminole Street.
The two family members were reportedly in an argument because 32-year-old Rain Heart wanted the cell phone that her mother allowed her to use.
The mother told officers that the argument escalated when Heart threatened to kill her with a knife, an OPD news release stated.
The mother’s fiancé said he witnessed Heart try to stab her mother with a kitchen knife, the release detailed, and he stated that he got between them and separated them.
Odessa police arrested and charged Heart with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Heart remained in custody as of Monday afternoon with a $25,000 bond, jail records show.
