Woman charged with choking step-daughter, striking husband

A woman was charged by police Saturday after she reportedly struck her husband in the head with a pan and began choking her step-daughter.

Officers were called about the disturbance around 9:05 p.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Waverly Avenue.

Upon arrival, an Odessa Police Department news release stated, officers found the 53-year-old victim and his wife, Dana Brunson, who was reportedly intoxicated.

After getting into an argument, Brunson reportedly grabbed a pan and struck her husband on the back of the head, the release detailed, and then began choking her 24-year-old step-daughter.

Brunson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, assault causing bodily injury, a class A misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a class C misdemeanor.

Jail records show Brunson was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Saturday and released Monday on two bonds totaling $27,500.
