Woman charged with assaulting officer

Police charged a woman Sunday after she reportedly kicked an officer in the knee while he was detaining her.

Officers were called about a disturbance at about 7:23 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of N. Hancock Ave., an Odessa Police Department news release stated, where they found 30-year-old Kayla Mcintosh.

Mcintosh had three outstanding warrants for traffic violations and while an officer was attempting to handcuff Mcintosh, the release stated she kicked him in the left knee, causing bodily injury.

Police charged Mcintosh with assault on a public servant, a third-degree felony.

Jail records show Mcintosh was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Sunday and has a $15,000 bond.
