Woman charged after motorcycle wreck

A woman has been charged in connection to a motorcycle wreck Monday that left the driver with serious injuries, an Odessa Police Department press release said.

Police first responded to the crash around 4:17 p.m. Monday at 48th Street and Andrews Highway, the release stated.

The wreck occurred when a white Ford F-150, driven by 21-year-old Sha’morree Antane Qnell Howard, collided with a green Kawasaski motorcycle, driven by 21-year-old Nathaniel Carlson, the release said. Carlson was taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury.

Witnesses told police Howard failed to stop and assist Carlson, the release detailed, and was last seen traveling eastbound on 48th Street.

Howard was later located and charged with failing to stop and render aid, a third-degree felony, the release stated.

Jail records show Howard was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Tuesday on a $25,000 bond.
