Two suspects have been arrested and two more have been identified by Odessa police in connection to a drive-by shooting on Friday.

Police charged 17-year-old Jarius Llanez and 18-year-old Tyler Scott with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and have warrants for the arrest of 18-year-old Robert Lujan and 17-year-old Ricardo Reyna on the same charges.

Officers were first called about a gunshot victim around 11:56 a.m. Friday in the 1300 block of North Eidson Avenue, an Odessa Police Department news release stated.

Two vehicles were traveling on Eidson Avenue when the occupants reportedly began shooting at two men standing outside, the release detailed.

The two victims were 18-year-old Nathan Stephens and 19-year-old Desmond Tuggle, the release stated. Stephens was shot once in the abdomen and taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury, and Tuggle suffered a minor injury on his left hand. MCH Spokesperson Rhonda Lewallen said Stephens was in good condition Monday.

Both vehicles fled the scene before police arrived, the release detailed. The vehicles were described as a black Chevrolet truck and a black Pontiac Sunfire.

As of Monday afternoon, Lujan and Reyna were the only two suspects still wanted in connection with the shooting. LeSueur added the motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Lujan and Reyna, or this investigation, to call OPD at 432-333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS and reference case number 18-10711.

Police are also still searching for suspects in connection to a drive-by shooting Thursday at Sherwood Park, 4520 N. Dixie Blvd. LeSueur said no suspects have been arrested in connection with the Thursday shooting and it is also still under investigation.

Officers were called Thursday night about shots fired at the park, where they found an 18-year-old Christopher Evans, who told them he had been shot at by unknown people, and one 19-year-old man, Daniel Garcia, had been shot in the lower left leg.

The victim, who LeSueur said is in good condition, described the suspect’s vehicle as a 2000 model Altima or Firebird.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting can call OPD or Odessa Crime Stoppers and reference case number 18-10625.
